How nice it is to enter a home and be greeted with alluring scents. Like a rosemary infused meal cooking on the stove, or an amber and sage candle in the corner of a room casting a golden glow. These subtle scents that meander around corners of the home evoke a feeling. And they have the ability to create fond memories that stay with us for years to come.
There are obvious ways to bring scents into the home. Like baking fresh scones in the oven on a weekend afternoon, slow cooking a hearty meal like boeuf bourguignon on a cold evening, and lighting candles and placing diffusers with our favourite natural scents throughout the home.
Or it can be a little more subtle by placing a pot of lavender or fragrant flower by the front door. Fresh herbs on the kitchen windowsill. A bowl filled with citrus fruits on the dining table. Or finding that unique body cream with a pleasing scent that stays with us as we go about our day. It creates experiences. And entices us to pause for a moment to breathe it in.
Not only is it a little way to add some pleasure into our own everyday. But it ignites the senses of the guests that visit us. It can give a home a welcome and cosy feeling.
